Task -
Use the character development chart and work out:
- inner conflicts
- outer conflicts
- inner motivations
- outer motivations
The first film was either a choice of Bicycle Thief or The Third Man. I picked Bicycle Thief.
The second was a film of my choice. I chose The Truman Show
The third was the main character in a script that i'm developing. I picked the recognising a stranger script i named Happy As Larry.
Bicycle Thief-
Main character: Anthony
Inner motivations- To prove himself
To provide for his family
Outer motivations- To get his bike back
Inner conflicts- Low self esteem
Outer conflicts- The police, the thief
The Truman Show-
Main character: Truman
Inner motivations- To travel and find his true love
Inner conflicts- Afraid of water
Outer motivations- To travel to Fiji as he believes a woman he loves is there
Outer conflicts- Christoff and the production team, all the actors, the place he lives
Happy As Larry-
Main character: Larry
Inner motivations- Someone to trust
Outer motivations- Genuine friendship
Outer conflicts- Sarah and Steve having the affair
Daniel making him confront Sarah
Inner conflicts- Fear of change, guilt, feeling useless
