Props for "Piss Taker" - Tests

         PROPS - "Piss Taker" 

After marking up the script paying attention to props and costume i ordered a few things from Amazon:

Foam Knife, Fake Blood and Blood Capsules

Here is the Marked up Script and all the items put to the test ( i was going to try out the blood capsules but as i only have 4 i don't want to risk not having enough on set)

THE KNIFE

Not too bad to say it was only £10. I think it's realistic enough to pull it off. One problem is it's really floppy so we're going to have to remember that when shooting and not flap it around too much. I was thinking of cutting the end off this and sticking it to Daniels tee somehow but then thought it may be more effective to have Daniel cough blood halfway through taunting Larry instead of just looking down and seeing a knife.

FAKE BLOOD

                                              

I did a couple of tests on an old piece of clothing and my skin to see what it looks like.

                                                   BLOOD CAPSULES

I got these as they stated they are safe and non toxic. I hope Simon likes Raspberries.

                                                    ICING SUGAR

Basically just icing sugar in a bag to look like the unidentified powder Larry drugs Daniel with. The bag had a couple of spare buttons in originally but thought it looked good enough to get the point across that is was some sort of drug. I think the only problem we might come across is the actor getting hyper.

THE TAPE

 The tape is to be used to strap Daniels legs down to a chair (originally a bed) so it has to look a lot stronger than it actually is to pull it off. I did a quick test and it seems it rips easy enough and is not too sticky.

                                                         THE BEER

                                                 (if you can call it that)

They will probably be tipped out as we are pouring icing sugar in one and Daniel downs it. We could either switch out the one with icing sugar and let him drink the actual lager or (if he's driving etc) pour them into glasses and fill with lemonade or something to make it more drinkable.

                                                         

                                                    THE CLOCK

Just in case there isn't one there i'm taking this small one to avoid having to change stuff on the spot.

                                                 COSTUME

Is still in discussion and will be sorted by tomorrow evening (Tuesday 24th) after our Production Meeting. We know that Daniel has to wear pants with a zip and wear clothes he's not too precious about in case the fake blood / capsules stain. So it's basically just the actual aesthetic we're talking about.
