Tony's class, Discussing Scripts + Production Meeting . "Piss Taker" Me, Ryan, Tom V, Joe J and Yash
Today we spoke about:
- Locations
- Actors
- Genre
- Framing/Blocking
- Films
- Times/Dates of shoot
Locations were the first thing we spoke about after i sent out some pics of the pub i used to work at. Turns out we can use it! but only at weekends and through the day the rest of the week. The kitchen would be the only safe place to shoot in too. I wouldn't feel good about having a team down in that cellar with equipment etc.
Luckily we have a friend near University who can help us out with the whole location so that's sorted. For now.
Actors were next on the list. Me and Ryan's friend Simon is willing to help
We thought he could play Daniel but obviously we have changed the age. We have worked with him before in a few comedy sketches and the film we made for our last unit in the D.I.V.A course so we think he could pull it off. He just needs to book the time off work.
We thought as Joe is editing maybe he could be Larry? but as a last resort. Tom is talking to another student that maybe could help? this will be discussed next time we meet.
Genre came into discussion as Tom wanted to know what sort of vibe i had in mind when i wrote the script to help with his visualising. I had a sort of Dead Mans shoes type film in my head. So basically we narrowed it down to a Western.
Lots of closeups and mid shots.
Tony suggested that once we had the Genre down in our head we try and visualise the film without any dialogue then start to add back the vital parts that tell the story. This helps to make to make the shots tell the story by what angles they are placed and how you show power in characters.
Ryan is going to the Location tomorrow so is going to get pics of all of it. These will be shared in a Drive and from there Tom can start planning the shots better.
Times and Dates are going to be discussed at the next meeting. I need to link everything up for now.
