My Breakdown Of Hypernormalisation

 

                                                                 What worked for me      

The way it was structured. I like how the score and narration depicted the theme of the film. This could of easily been about anything the narrator chose. The mix of shocking images and mundane images works to balance it. If it was all shocking images or all mundane I probably wouldn't watch. I like how real it is and the way he filters out all the nonsense in the news etc. It's brutally honest which is the exact opposite we usually see. 

                                                              What could be improved 

Maybe use time compression more effectively to speed up the pace in the first half. Although it was a bit slow for me at first it was still interesting and I didn't feel like I wanted to stop watching at any point. I can't really think of any other way that I personally feel would make it better.

                                                 What can be taken away for your film making 

Editing style. it's very Exit Through The Gift Shop. I had to watch this twice as I was getting them mixed up in my head even though they are about totally different things. It did help when thinking of  footage for the Hit Record task and what images go with others to create a new meaning.

                                                 What if anything is achievable in your position

It's technically achievable as it's mainly stock footage. The hard part is the subject, Making it enticing and structuring the footage.
