My Breakdown Of Neon Demon

                                                                   What works for you

How drastically the sets and colours change to reflect the characters mood or emotion was done well. It didn't really fit together visually in the way a traditional film would. But you understood what was trying to be said. I loved how it was lit to compliment the characters and their personalities. Composition wise it was great. You knew where to look at all times. Neon lights themselves are cool in film and I'm glad they were in places where they should be. I've seen films where there's neon lights in every room they go. Doesn't look realistic.

                                                              What could be improved

Maybe some scenes could of been suggested rather than done. I think that would of worked better. Maybe you don't see what's happening but hear it with different footage over the top? The dialogue was a bit cheesy in parts.

What can be taken away for your filmmaking

Definitely the way the characters are lit and the composition to show the characters power or demeaner. I wouldn't want to create anything with this type of message but can appreciate the aesthetics. The use of practical lights as key lights.

What, if anything is achievable for you to do in your position

This is all totally achievable. Just need to practice different lighting set ups etc.
